it took a while for the bliss to set in, but while jogging determinedly along a seedy french street today, breathlessly babbling in french to myself about the horizon, which I could see by the way: blue green and cool in the far far away, with the sun melting over it like a warm breath, I felt that incredible elation when life and humanity are completely and shamelessly radiant. Thank god for distant places.

Living and learning here has also taught me an incredible appreciation for a person's staggering dexterity with their first language. Being able to string together a sentence, actually choosing words that convey a particular mood: beauty, poetics, anger, sarcasm, etc, takes ridiculous expertise. It's kinda cool that if we choose to take advantage of it, everyone can share in being ever so super good at something. Thats kinda rad, in my book.

I wish I could be sharing art and images, but blogger won't allow it when coming from this side of the earth. C'est la vie!

Still loving the new sketch book. And! Going to France in 2 days. say whhaaaaaaaaaaaat?!! Kabir asked me while I as cooking, "so are you going to.. like, eat, over there? or.. what?" I responded that I would probably be hungry for frequent hours in the beginning of the adventure. In other news! I'm pleased to be registered for fall classes, many of which are music based- piano, voice lessons, choir. I expect to be the next Regina Spektor before the term ends. (I almost AM btw, just in case yall aint in the know)

Also I have chills. Tingle twinkling chills and love songs cascading through my mind and out my mouth while driving or showering. It's tragic, really. Oh, and romantic, and inspiring. And life feels much more exceptional and colorful!

I have a new sketch book! My first very own in many a year. So I've been going a little crazy with the characters from Boxer Hockey, my new greatest artistic obsession. Ive scarcely strayed from a pen tablet since my teen years, and damn, pencils are messy, seriously.

Today I was informed that in the potentially near future Imay be doing a modeling shoot with with the above model. For anyone not in the know, I am the model of clearly equal esteem seen below. I'm confident that I can bring a lot to the table in the shoot and that I was certainly not asked to be involved to make her look better by comparison.

So the photographer sent me a "teaser image" today a few hours after the shoot was finished. I sincerely hope I don't look like I'm looking at dead animal in the whole series.

Also, whilst driving down Glendale street today, a small, 8 year old black kid expended the calories to flip me off. For me, those are the kind of incidents (along with a couple a fat college girls throwing whole trash bags full of what should be recycled beer cans into the garbage) that make me want to pray for a nuclear holocaust. Or at least aliens destroying the race. Animals don't deserve no guff. Anyway that incident may be why my face was as such at the shoot later that day.

crazyily crazily incredible stuff

I did this girl with a blue outline which I think gives her a different feel from my other stuff, which I usually do in a brown outline.

It was a sunny day but now it's a gray one. Its cool man. So this Sunday I have a another photo shoot, some of which is evidently planned to be nude. hmmm. I don't mind showing some skin, but really Im not avant garde enough to put that kind of stuff in my portfolio. Anyway something about cookies and crumbling or however you make pajamas is how you sleep in em or you know, whatever.

Also evidently it's good to be passionate but karma has a sharp eye for being so in the wrong places. If you're a vixen, even a friendly, innocent one who means well, keep your paws off hands with wedding rings on em, because weight gain, sinus infection, walking into metal poles, and throwing up milk that has solidified in your stomach await you. I'm telling you this is sage advice.

Also some guy named Dennis Hopper died. When I heard this I thought Edward Hopper, and took a moment to reflect sadly on the all those lonely naked women hanging out at their windows.

well it's obviously time to just shave my head and do brash reckless things. Rub up against strangers, march in protests, and fall hopelessly in love with the wrong gender, age, or marital status.

If my life is so viciously lacking in purpose while I still have a weekly schedule, I can only imagine what great existential quests I'll have to undergo when summer arrives. The possy will fly home to blue Hawaii, and the heat will settle in Ashland while I roast and gain weight in an empty, non-air conditioned apartment. I watched Anna and the king last night- remember that slave lady who was chained up and left outside for six weeks? Throwing banana leaves around and alarming the passer-bys with her plaintive, saneless cries? She and I will undoubtedly have a lot in common before July rolls around.

Instead of doing one final image that incorporates all the concepts, I decided it would be easier to do three; one for each of the characters- hopefully that also demonstrate some of the terrain I've come up with.

I'm sick of pen tablets so I'd like to do at least one of these with traditional media.. but I'm very pressed for time so we'll just haveta wait and see! Heres the beginning of the Aiala's final piece:

Modeling a fat fox. Very frustrating and definitely not something I enjoy doing. At least now I can comfortably continue to bad mouth 3d animation now that I know my enemy.

Thats right I'm not in class. I am, in fact, researching and sketching- trying to figure out what I'm going to model. I mean attempt to model. I fail at Maya. FAIL FAIL FAIL

anyway, though humans are my bag and general point of interest, it would probably be foolish of me to try and model one. SO! I've decided on a small, large eared, fox. aka, a fennec. a cute, simplified one that will calm me in my moments of rage and angst as I toil over it.

so I'll probably be in a litle later after i finish some concept sketches to import into Maya.

I'm still trying to come up with a character for the maya class that isnt too scary to attempt. But shall soon!

for concept art I've decided to practice my patience and do a super fab commission that takes days of sweat and blood. Last year some guy requested an original boobs and beasts (and even offered to pay but I shant ask for anything) featuring a short haired brunette with a scary dino. And so! I'm going to do this short haired vixen with my jungle girls in the greatest, most action packed boobs vs beast I've ever attempted.
