this is a sketch of my boyfriend I did about a year ago- I never use black line anymore, I always try and use a color

After class today I walked outside and walked into a pole. A metal, glong-ing pole that left me with a swollen lip. There was an art exhibition underway, so the whole town and their moms saw. I fled the scene and cried in my car. The universe was so cruel; a young, beautiful girl smacked in the face with the cold pole of karma. I say this because I was gazing longingly at a man who is spoken for through a glass window when it happened. Harsh reality leaves me with big lips. Luckily after the weeping resided I looked in the rear-view and thought it actually made me look kinda sexy.

my favorite artist

i worship this person's existence and make love to their art in the shower as it disintegrates in the warm water. for years I have worshipped. I've no appreciation for Harry Potter, but sweet jesus, look at the expressions! View more of my greatest love at makani.deviantart.com

i know i was supposed to be doing a lamescape or something, but i did this instead. I thought it would take a wee few minutes but my very poorly developed skills cost me the whole class time. saaaaaaaaad face.

box 2.0

now that I know how to texture map, I made a quick forest-y box.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

box. I couldnt find the quaky yums or whatever that comes with the tutorial so I just made my own map with a picture from concept art- but obviously didnt pay much attention to the dimensions.

here it is!

lea fails at modeling

just to make sure that I'm still the kid that other kids dont usually like, I'm going to remind this blog that I have had a 4.0 for the last 4 terms in a row. seriously. and I reeeeeeeaaallly dont want my Maya class to tarnish such a paragon of studious-ness.

That said, I also feel i must note that I like boobs and bodies in general. if I find anything redeeming about 3d modeling, it probably lies within doing human figures. So! My next project is going to be "the grand statue" 2.0 , now that we are learning to do organic shapes.

Made a bit of progress and jungle me. First time I've ever spent any time whatsoever on a background, so its a new experience. The pic has a colored background on a layer not visible in the above pic. its water color-y blue and green. Definitely enjoying the jungle book influences.

Bageera

I want my next few drawings to incorporate big cats and jungle backgrounds- So! one of my old favorite masterpieces of art shall be my reference

boobs and beasts

Frank Frazetta is currently my greatest hero. At last someone who shares my passion for sexy women and dangerous beasts! In my oil painting class last term I spent several weeks on a sexy lady with a raptor or some kind of dinosaur- totally jazzed on the boobs and beast concept, and several people told me is was Frazetta-esque; who at the time I'd never heard of. So I've since looked and fallen in love. My next me as a tribal jungle woman will be with a big cat.

I notice a lot of dorks like to draw themselves as powerful warriors is some way or another- well versed with a sword or gun or some other dorky dork fest thing slumped casually over their shoulders. (I cant tell you how much i usually hate this) I want to avoid this at all costs and make sure my character is always friend of animals and never battle-er of animals.

Anyway I've gotten dino out of my system and I want to go more mammalian. Next few pics I want to work with backgrounds of the wild to give have a real nature girl feel.

I'n my 3d modeling class I'm supposed to be making a city of sorts. My first building is a lovely double decker Greek temple, so I'm going for a Greek Acropolis. I can tell you right now though: Maya, this shit seriously isnt my bag.

i equate hair with power

me as the dictator of the world just creeped me out too much. that thing is too stoic and santa clause like for me to like or associate with my person. So! I did another more silly and relaxed one. this one is definitely me. me in every way.

Peaceful Warrior

If there is anything I want to get out becoming an art major its learning how to draw. My hands are like 1st grade hands. Terrible! This old 07 tablet sketch I use as my avatar is a pretty good representation of me. I like the light hair. I don't go by Pesto anymore though. Those are fox faces on my boobs.

I'm using this pic of one of a co-model pal to do my first assignment for conceptual art. Its going to be me as dictator of the world. Pro-Environmentalism of course.

Ive never used Corel Painter before, but I'd always wanted to. Today, during the class lecture, I found Corel 8 in the computer lab- and played with brushes secretly during the lecture.

This blog is now going to be base for both the Conceptual Art class, and Miles Maya! Hurray!
